In March 2020, the Beaver Institute and Ecotone, Inc. co-hosted the first international beaver conference near Baltimore, MD. It was a huge success. Now our second international Conference, BeaverCON 2022, will again be held near Baltimore, MD on June 14-16, 2022 (revised dates). The conference theme is “Building Climate Resilience: A Nature-Based Approach”

In an age where technology enables large groups to meet virtually, why host an in-person conference? The short answer is, an in-person conference offers benefits that virtual conferences cannot replicate. There is an energy and synergy that is created when like-minded people meet, greet, share and work together in-person. These benefits persist long after the in-person conference ends. Advantages of an In-Person BeaverCON 2022 include:
Virtual Backup Plan: We fully expect to host another very successful in-person BeaverCON conference. However, in the unlikely event that COVID imposes travel restrictions into the summer, we do have a virtual format backup plan. Please stay tuned for updates. As we plan for a memorable and engaging BeaverCON 2022 in June, we will continue to monitor federal, state and local guidelines to ensure we can safely execute an in-person event. Despite being optimistic, our medical team is not taking any chances and will remain diligent about the safety of our colleagues, attendees, and staff. Attendance at BeaverCON 2022 will require either proof of vaccination OR a current negative COVID-19 test result prior to check-in. Our venue can safely hold 4 -5 x the number of expected attendees which facilitates social distancing. Masks and regular handwashing/disinfecting will be strongly encouraged.
